U.S. Taxpayers

We apologize for the delays with processing FORM 1099-NECs this year. Our external provider is still working on the forms and they will be mailed out by end of February. In accordance with this, we have filed an extension with the IRS.

Some of you may receive two 1099's this year. This is normal and generally, you may combine the two values while you file your taxes. However, please consult your tax professional for more advice about your specific situation.

The new Account Settings feature allows you to consolidate and control the account email addresses linked to your Hub profile. The Account you are using to access any of our platforms is an email and password set up in our system. You may have multiple accounts within the system. What does this new section do?

Welcome to the Hub, your personal business space in the TransPerfect world.

The Hub is your new destination for everyday TransPerfect communications and support. Through the Hub, you can now easily update your profile or payment method and access other important information regarding your work with TransPerfect in one place. Some key features of the Hub include:

Self-Service Portal
- You can view and update your personal information in the My Profile section. To change your associated email, submit a request through the Help section.
Payment Method
- Review and update your payment method in the My Profile section.
- During systems integration, your current payment information pulled from our Accounts Payable system may have been overridden in the Hub. This does not affect your payments, but please review and update your payment method in the My Profile section to ensure we have correct and consistent information across all our platforms.
Account Transparency
- In Forms & Contracts, you can access copies of all your signed documents, like the Independent Contractor Agreement.
Support
- All support contacts are now conveniently located in one place, the Help section. You can also track the status of any support requests you’ve created in My Support Tickets at the bottom of the page.
News and Announcements
- The Hub will feature important news and announcements from TransPerfect regarding collaboration, training, business opportunities and more.

Last Tuesday was the longest day of the year. The official Summer Solstice 2022 in the Northern Hemisphere! TransPerfect maximized our day with our linguist in mind. As a global community not only surviving but thriving in unprecedented times it’s important to consider what brings us joy! Often these things can also bring us history, lessons, and a sense of camaraderie.

With those ideas in mind, we reflect on what International Museum Day has to teach us. Just like World Heritage Day, it’s a day that allows us to appreciate how translation offers communities a tool to promote understanding and access to diverse cultures and different histories. May is also Mental Health Awareness Month. Using these holidays as a prompt to take mental health breaks and wellness seriously is highly encouraged. Exploring museums on vacation or within your local community:

For centuries people have built monuments, houses of faith, and even tourist attractions that help spread understanding of the places different people call home and have created history. In 1982 World Heritage Day was established by UNESCO’s General Conference to be celebrated every April 18th. The purpose was to spread awareness and action surrounding preserving disappearing cultures and natural heritages globally.

The 2022 theme of World Heritage Day is Heritage and Climate. While there are many opinions and scientific research surrounding climate, the message TransPerfect wants to share with you today is that you are already a part of the solution World Heritage asks for. Linguistics is essential in preserving monuments, inhibiting cultural understanding, access, and education. Thank you for collaborating with us!

It is very human to ask, what more can we do? Every person must ask that question of themselves individually and embarks on their best answer.

Suggestions can range from:

Diverse education on climate change, disappearing cultures, and preservation efforts

The freelance market offers immense opportunities, yet it comes with its own set of risks, notably job scams. The Better Business Bureau reports that recruitment fraud rose 54.2% from 2022 to 2023. To safeguard your interests and ensure a safe freelancing journey, it's crucial to recognize the red flags associated with these deceptive practices.

Recognize the Red Flags

1. Emails from a Free Account
Always be cautious if you receive job-related emails from free web email services like Gmail or Hotmail instead of a company's business email address. Such emails may also display other signs of fraudulence:
